About Blast

 

The vision of the Lethbridge Community Out of School Association, It’s a BLAST Program is to become the premier out of school  care program in Lethbridge.

 In fulfilling this vision, our mission is to:

• Treat all children as individuals by fostering creative expression and enhancing self confidence.

• Develop life skills by providing new opportunities to learn and succeed. 

• Build Leadership skills through our Senior Blaster Program.

• Promote the value and importance of a healthy lifestyle.

On a daily basis we offer:

• Creative Activities – for the child who likes to do crafts, colour and draw. 

• Centers – where the children have a choice of what they want to play. i.e. Lego , K’nex

• Games – for older and younger children such as puzzles, cards and board games.

• Drama – for the child who like to pretend and imagine such as dress up, puppets and travel.

• Physical – either indoor or outdoors such as sports, parachute and circle games.

• Quiet & Reading – for the child who enjoys their quiet time doing such things as hidden pictures, comics, or chapter books.

If needed, children can have space to work on their homework.

Offsite activities are planned during holiday and summer programs. Children are encouraged to give suggestions on what they would like to do – look for the Kid’s Idea Box.
